What happened to Erin Foster and Jeremy Bechtel?
Residents of Sparta, Tennessee, Erin Foster and Jeremy Bechtel lived there. On the evening of April 3, 2000, Bechtel spoke on the phone with his father, Ronnie Bechtel. Her brother Will saw Foster that same night.
That evening, Foster and Bechtel went to a party, but they afterwards went back to Foster’s parents’ house. Both adolescents were most likely last seen driving Foster’s black Pontiac Grand Am at approximately 10:00 p.m. Foster was 18 years old and Bechtel was 17 years old when Foster vanished.
On November 24, 2021, Jeremy Sides, a civilian scuba diver, explored a lake close to where the youngsters’ party was held. Foster’s Grand Am was not the submerged vehicle that Sides discovered. On November 30, Sides used sonar technology to locate a car thirteen feet below the CalfKiller River’s surface, close to Highway 84. Sides, however, ran out of light.
Sides went back to the car he had seen in the river the day after, on December 1, 2021, and dove to film the car. It was determined that Foster’s Grand Am was the owner of the license plate.
He called White Country Sheriff Steve Page to inform him of his find and to get confirmation that the vehicle was Foster’s and contained two human remains. Foster and Bechtel’s remains, discovered in the car after being lost for 21 years, were eventually determined to be theirs.
