Angelina Jolie’s reported Jordanian adoption is revealed as false
Two weeks ago, Angelina dominated four tabloid covers with various stories about her “cruelty and spite” and that sort of thing. One of the tabloids, OK! Magazine, ran a story alleging that Angelina was planning to adopt from either Jordan or Syria… alone! Without Brad! You know, like how she adopted Maddox. And Zahara. And Pax. The basis for the story was two-fold: first, Angelina and Brad had recently traveled to Syria as part of a UNHCR goodwill trip and to Jordan to visit an SOS Children’s Village (picture above) and secondly, because some orphan director or publicist told some tabloid reporter somewhere that Angelina was planning to adopt. This was all regardless of the existing Jordanian and Syrian adoption laws, which from what I gather, would pretty much mean that Angelina couldn’t really adopt from those countries. So this comes as no surprise… now a Jordanian orphanage worker is saying that Brad and Angelina were just visiting, not baby shopping:
Bosses at an orphanage in Jordan have dismissed rumours ANGELINA JOLIE and BRAD PITT made plans to adopt another child during a recent visit there.
The Hollywood couple flew to the country last month (Oct09) and spent time at the SOS Children’s Village in the capital city Amman.
Jolie, who has supported the organisation for six years, was seen playing with youngsters in the kindergarten with her partner, sparking rumours she is planning to add a seventh child to her brood with Pitt.
But orphanage worker Aysha Shahin insists the couple was focused on meeting the children they’ve sponsored – and that there are no plans for an adoption.
She tells Britain’s Hello! magazine, “(Jolie) was giving them advice about life and school. The children asked about her movies and talked to Brad about The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. Then Angelina and Brad went to kindergarten, where they sang songs and danced with the children. They particularly liked singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”
“We do not do adopting. I have not heard of any plans for her to adopt here in Jordan and in Syria it would be impossible.
“Angelina did not talk about adoption. She just wanted to play with the kids. She is a sweetheart – one of our greatest supporters.”
The actress has three adopted children, two little boys from Asia and a daughter from Africa, as well as three biological kids with Pitt.

Once again, it would have been impossible to adopt from an SOS Children’s Village anyway, so there was no need for any of the reporting. Now, I will say this – I do think Brad and Angelina will adopt again. My guess is that they’ll adopt from an African country where there are existing adoption laws and they can do everything by the book. Seriously, every time they visit a country, everyone is like “oh my God, they’re going to buy all the fresh babies!”
