Johnny Depp & Armie Hammer’s crazy red suit in London: who looks better?

The Lone Ranger saga is not over yet! Here are some photos from the UK premiere of the film where Gore Verbinski and Disney are hoping against hope to recoup some of this movie’s losses. Kaiser and I have both discussed how terribly this film has performed in North America, but the disaster could be somewhat mitigated by a decent international take. As I’ve said before though and even though Johnny Depp’s films usually do great on a global scale, I don’t see Johnny’s fans turning out for this overwrought piece of Americana. I haven’t seen the movie (and don’t plan to do so, but my brother likes everything and walked out after 10 minutes), but here’s the main problem — a $250 million budget before publicity. That’s gotta hurt.

At any rate, Johnny and Armie Hammer are still promoting this cinematic tofurky, and Johnny definitely looks like the movie star that he is at this premiere. Look at that stage presence and total lack of scarves. Johnny cleans up so well.

Compared to Johnny, Armie looks like a total amateur in this red suit. Why so bright, Armie? This suit is pretty awful, and I can’t make any excuses for it at all. And a brown tie? Yuck.

In sharp contrast to her husband, Elizabeth Chambers looked absolutely fantastic. I covet this dress and her hair too.

After the premiere, Johnny took Amber Heard out to dinner at Cipriani. I don’t think these two are going to last at all, but Amber sure is breathtakingly pretty in this red dress. See, this is what red should look like.
