American politician Jim Clyburn holds the position of House Majority Whip in the US House of Representatives at the moment.

Clyburn held a number of jobs following college before going into education. He was a social studies teacher at C.A. Brown High School before transitioning into counseling. He was chosen to serve in the South Carolina House of Representatives in 1970, and he did so until 1992.

As soon as Clyburn was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1992, his political career took off. He has since become one of the most important African American politicians in the nation after being reelected every two years. He was chosen as the Assistant Democratic Leader in 2006, and in 2018, he was appointed Majority Whip.
