Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie cast: Who voices the characters?

The 2017 box office hit Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie was released on Netflix on July 10, and it’s already secured a spot on the streamer’s top 10 movie list. As of July 13, it’s sitting at the No. 4 spot, meaning many people are watching the kid-animated film.

Based on the bestselling children’s book series of the same name by Dav Pilkey, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie follows fourth-grade prankster best friends, George and Harold, who accidentally hypnotize their cruel principal into thinking he’s a superhero named Captain Underpants.

The film is believed to loosely adapt four Captain Underpants books: The Adventures of Captain Underpants (1997), Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets (1999), Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants (2000) and Captain Underpants and the Tyrannical Retaliation of the Turbo Toilet 2000 (2014).

It also boasts an incredible voice cast of well-known actors such as Thomas Middleditch, Kevin Hart, Ed Helms, Nick Kroll, Jordan Peele, and others. But which characters do these talented actors voice in the film? Find out right below!

Emmy-nominated actor Thomas Middleditch voices one of the main protagonists, Harold Hutchins. Harold is very clever and good at drawing. He and his best friend George spend their days coming up with pranks and creating comic books. Middleditch is best known for his role as Richard Hendricks in the comedy series Silicon Valley. He also had roles in the movies Search Party, Kong: Skull Island, Once Upon a Time in Venice and Tag.

Another Emmy-nominated actor, Kevin Hart, voices the other main protagonist, George Beard. George is a class clown like his best friend Harold and is usually the person behind the pranks they pull. He also writes the comics while Harold illustrates them. You might’ve watched Hart in movies such as Soul Plane, Think Like a Man, Ride Along, Get Hard, Central Intelligence, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Night School, Fatherhood, The Man from Toronto and Me Time.

Ed Helms plays the role of Mr. Benjamin “Benny” Krupp, a grumpy and mean principal that becomes hypnotized into becoming Captain Underpants. Helms also had roles in The Office,  The Hangover trilogy, We’re the Millers, Vacation, Tag, Coffee & Kareem and Rutherford Falls.
